Let the good times roll

I’ve been posting way too much about parasites and ketosis lately and I figured it was time for a post that is just breezy, fun and doesn’t involve any “poo” talk (which for me really is quite a stretch but I’m up for the challenge). So I thought I’d write about my recent trip away to Queensland and give you all a peek at some sneaky snaps from my time up here (I leave on Sunday Morning).

It’s been so great to get away for a few weeks, to run away from home responsibilities, get into a relaxed routine and most importantly see some awesome friends that I only get to see a few times a year due to geographical complications. Despite the fact that I’m still detoxing and healing, I have still managed to enjoy every second up here and surrender to the moment. I hate the idea of putting my life on hold until I’m finally better because I can’t put a timeline on healing … it could take months, years or even another whole decade before I’m fully back to normal Rach and in the meantime I’d rather be having fun and doing what I love!

The first leg of my trip was up to Malanda in Far North Queensland to visit my friend Jo (of Quirky Cooking fame) and her family. I was lucky enough to stay and bond with them for a whole week and we did some awesome stuff!

We recorded two podcasts together (with Peppy the gorgeous pooch by our side).

I was really sad to leave, but excited to be heading down to the Sunny Coast for a second week of fun with friends (we managed to take this silly snap before I left – bunch of posers that we are )

On the coast I’ve being staying with my adorable and kind friend Caitlin and her partner Declan in their stunning little townhouse apartment that’s not too far from the beach.

Today we did some shopping at our favourite business Twenty8 Essentials and caught up with the crew, minus the Queen Bee Miss Kim and she is holidaying in Brisbane at the moment (I’ll catch ya next time Kimee – missed you). I’m very excited to have new oils to play with – I don’t buy concert tickets or buy takeaway coffees … all my money is spent on travel, food and essential oils (just the way I like it hehe). We also dropped into Changing Habits so I could stock up on some of my favourites; seaweed salt, turmeric powder and cinnamon powder.

Tomorrow is my last day before I fly home on Sunday Morning. It will be phenominal to see mamma bear again (I’ve never been away from her for two weeks before … I don’t think it matters how old you get, you still always miss chatting to your mum when you aren’t with her … love you Mamma T) and comforting to slip back into routine, but I will miss all of my QLD friends and can’t wait to be reunited with them all next time I’m up here.

I’ve learned some valuable lessons while up here, but that’s a whole other post in itself, so I’ll save those for another post on another day. I hope over the past few months you’ve all managed to have a bit of a holiday too – even if it was just spent at home with friends and family.

Until next time, hugs, hi-5’s and waterfall dreaming (sighs)
