Introducing … ‘The Healthy Exception’

Hello Lovely Ones and WELCOME to ‘The Healthy Exception‘ – the podcast for teenagers choosing to be the ‘healthy exception’ to the ‘unhealthy rule’. My new podcast is finally ready and available to listen to here.

Okay, so this podcast isn’t only for teenagers … anyone is welcome to tune in, I just figured an age group target would give the episodes some direction (plus there aren’t really too many podcasts specifically directed at whatever generation comes after Gen Y … is it just Gen Z? Feel free to leave a comment below if you have an answer to that).

I just love podcasts, they are educational and if you find the right presenters, quite merrymaking and uplifting. You can download them and then take them anywhere, on a long walk, a quick jog, the train, bus, tram or plane. I’ll even listen to them as I do some strecthes or even take an epsom salt and essential oil bath.

So what is a ‘healthy excpetion’? Perhaps I should first start by explaining the ‘unhealthy rule’ … How many people do you know that have absolutely NOTHING wrong with them healthwise? No allergies, no autoimmunity, no anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, skin problems, fatigue, etc, etc.? Exactly! Everyone is either inflammed, stressed, worried, tired, unhappy or catching every bug around! Perhaps some adults can remember a time before this was the case, but I can tell you, for my generation, most of us think that this is just normal and that we are powerless to stop these symptoms of our modern lifestyles from manifesting in our own bodies. Most of us have become ‘unhealthy rules’.

Then there are healthy exceptions, the ones that refuse to just let life pass them by at a medeocre pace. They challenge negativity, see looking after themselves as a priority and take responsibility for their own happiness. They may not start out as the most thriving beings, but they are well on their way to being the healthy exception to the unhealthy rule in the way that they think, eat, move, work, sleep and play. And this is the type of role model I want to help shape my generation (and any other generation who will listen) into being.

I’ve been through the rough and tumble of life, and, with lots of hard work, have come out the otherside. Despite many a hardship, where I am now, there’s no place I’d rather be than right here, and person I’d rather be for the world than me. I want everyone to know the happiness, joy, vitality and optimism I know, because I think we truly all deserve that. And I’m gonna stop there because in my soul-felt honesty I’m starting to get mushy (not my style).

So I hope you listen to and love this podcast. Sometimes it will just be me and my mamma bear and other times I’ll have guests, but the theme is always, health, happiness and defying societal norms and beliefs in order to break free of any limiting lifestyle habits or patterns. It’s all about education and raising awareness (basically getting healthy conversations started … even if that does mean opening up a few cans of worms along the way) because we can’t live better if we don’t know better right?
