Cool Banana(s) Bread

I say cool bananas a lot! “Rach, I’ve washed your favourite pair of shorts” … Cool bananas, thanks Mamma bear!”. (Text message from friend) “I’m going to the Wednesday night CX class at the gym … see you there?” … “Cool bananas, see you then”. (On best friend’s Facebook Timeline) “Happy Birthday you Cool Banana“.

Lot’s of events in life deserve the approving phrase; Cool Bananas … and this scrummy baking creation is no exception.

Sneaky Swaps Part 2: A Sweeter Life

It’s early January. New Year’s resolution season! The time of year that we resolve to change ourselves for the better, implement new habits, commit to carefully-planned routines and promise ourselves that we WILL use our gym membership (for the record, I only put this last one in here to stay relatable … I genuinely look forward to gym classes). Among the lists of admirable intentions, is often something nutrition-related, and more recently sugar – specifically the refined white stuff -seems to be something that people are determined to give the flick. AND FOR GOOD REASON.

Salted Macadamia and White Chocolate Butter

This divine butter can be made with or without the white chocolate twist. It’s simple but will have you making foodgasm noises left, right and centre. Serious “foodporn” in a jar.

Super-quick choc hazelnut cupcakes

These are similar to these cupcakes but with less sweetener so for those of you that like to keep sugars low, they are more of a “everyday”  cupcake recipe that can be whipped up at the beginning of the week for lunch boxes or as a easy-to-grab snack if you work from home (they’d even make a great breakfast on the go).

Phil-friendly Double Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

Regular readers will have no doubt heard read me mention my stepdad Phil a number of times. For the newbies, here’s the low-down. I love my Stepdad. A lot. When it comes to health we don’t always see eye to eye (and that’s putting it politely).

Probiotic Power Choccie Smoothie

This Smoothie is made on a base of homemade Kultured Wellness coconut yoghurt. I am a sucker for shop bought coconut yoghurts, but it sure is cheaper to purchase the starter culture and make your own from scratch. Do I always make my own? No. Honestly, I still prefer the taste and consistency of a good Coyo (or equivalent), but when I’m feeling thrifty, the homemade variety does the job.

Nifty Banana Muffins

I turned 19 yesterday (did I MENTION I have to walk with a cane now – jokes)

It was my first birthday on GAPS and as I’m still not vining with fruits or sugars (or even too many nuts). Raw cake wasn’t an option this year.  I genuinely didn’t mind. I was too busy cooking up delicious cauliflower mash/onion soup (leftover  mash blended with sautéed red onion, garlic, broth , tallow and pink salt) and GAPS muffins.

This week I’d like to share the insights of blogger Kimi Hill, author of www.sunandmoon.me. I don’t know Kimi personally, but she approached me after hearing my interview on Up for a Chat and asked me to do an interview for her website.

Banana Mug or Pancakes

I’m just going get straight to the point. This batter is good. I mean really good. As in I-can’t-believe-it’s-just-banana-and-eggs good. I’m not even going to ramble and give you a cute little story as to the background of this recipe. Nope, let’s just get cooking!
